Introducing Sonantes (featuring CéU)

album out May 20th

Sonantes is a Sao Paulo based musical collective featuring the vocal talents of CéU in collaboration with Pupillo and Dengue, members of the Brazilian group Nação Zumbi, as well as Rica Amabis from Instituto and Gui Amabis. Their unique debut release is a collection of atmospheric songs written for imaginary films and features guest stars Siba,  Lucio Maia, Beto Villares, Apollo 9 and others. This special "labor of love" project brought together some of the most exciting artists from Sao Paulo's vital music scene in a creative atmosphere where they could combine Brazilian, African, Cuban and electronic influences to create a unique collection of atmospheric songs that sound like they were written for a series of imaginary films.

 Pacifika  Asunción

available now

Pacifika
is the multi-talented Silvana Kane, a Peruvian born singer, and accomplished actress with a love of flamenco, electronica, and textured percussion; Adam Popowitz a Canadian bred guitarist adept at new wave, classical, and pop, and a skilled producer responsible for a catalogue that includes indie rock and Armenian folk music; and Toby Peter, a dub wise bassist born in Canada and raised in Barbados, explorer of jazz, hip-hop, Latin, metal and Caribbean grooves. Together the Vancouver based trio is making a new kind of global pop, music that nods to its diverse international influences, while forging its own unique voice. Latin tinged, marked by gently flowing melodies, deep grooves, waves of cracking percussion and the occasional burst of exhilarating guitar noise, Pacifika's comfortable, complex sound defies categories, creating soothing soundscapes held together by Kane's smooth, intimate vocals.

"The group's new album is nothing short of transcendent- a bold fusion of jazzy beats, electronica, and Latin flavor that suggests a multi-phased trip to Paradise."
- Global Rhythm Magazine

The Orb "Vuja De"

single from the upcoming album: The Dream

The Orb, for years the most fearlessly fascinating sonic marauders on this or any other planet, have returned in 2008 with a new album, The Dream, marking a long-awaited reunion between eternal mainstay Dr. Alex Paterson and lifelong friend and original inter-galactic conspirator Youth.  The Dream sees a return to the original spirit which spawned the first two classic albums, The Orb's Adventures In The Ultraworld and U.F. Orb. Working with former Dreadzone studio-wiz Tim Bran and a gaggle of guests, Alex and Youth have created a work of stunning beauty and immediacy while never losing sight of The Orb's original quest to homage personal musical obsessions while exploring sonic territories few dare to tread. The Dream is one of those rare albums that weave its own unique magic after repeated listens.
