Six Degrees Records announces a partnership with Ziriguiboom Discos, the imprint launched by Crammed Discs
in collaboration with Brazilian A&R/producer Béco Dranoff. As
America embarks on a renewed love affair with Brazilian music, Six
Degrees and Ziriguiboom will be in the forefront of presenting original
and unexposed aspects of Brazilian music to North American audiences.
Béco Dranoff is responsible for the critically acclaimed Red Hot + Rio,
NovaBossa and Red Hot + Lisbon compilations as well as coordinating
A&R for David Byrne's recent Beleza Tropical 2 release and helping
to compile the recently touted Os Mutantes compilation. He was also the
music supervisor for the Next Stop Wonderland soundtrack.
Dranoff explains: "Ziriguiboom Discos was created to bring to the world
the best of new and classic Brazilian music. The association with Six
Degrees Records will ensure that these great new sounds will reach
audiences in North America. Brazil rules again!" Crammed Discs, the
Brussels-based company has been one of the leading leading European
independent label since the early 80's, and is known for its eclectic
and high-quality output, ranging from world music (Crammed has launched
acts such as Zap Mama, Taraf de Haidouks and Hector Zazou) to
dance/electronica (with the SSR imprint and the innovative Freezone
series). For more info, please visit www.crammed.be
